Also known as l’art du déplacement [the art of movement or the art of displacement], Parkour is a French discipline that consists of moving around natural and urban environments using only one’s own body and surroundings for propulsion, trying to be as quick and smooth as possible, carrying out efficient movements. Its practitioners strive to achieve beautiful displacements, carrying out acrobatics and gymnastic movements. The discipline was developed in the early nineties by David Belle, who, in turn, was inspired by Georges Hébert’s natural method. The Mula community has its own representatives of the sport, among whom we spoke to Miguel Espada and Daniel Sampayo.
