‘For centuries, Malagost mountain pass, in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, has connected the north and south of Spain. For approximately fifty years, every first Sunday in August a pilgrimage is held to the summit, attended by residents of the villages at either side of the mountain, where the passage from The Book of Good Love that evokes the encounter between Juan Ruiz, Archpriest of Hita [Nancho Novo], and La Chata, a mountain girl who lived close to the pass [Elena Ballesteros] is read aloud.’ This is the story of the short documentary film made in the context of the project entitled Short Films for the Environment. Fernando Franco is the executive producer. This is the story of the making of El Buen Amor.
